Durkle Disco return with a certified 140 banger for the summer as Bristol heavyweights 0079, Emz & Wish Master link up on ‘NRG’. Unsurprisingly given the artists involved, ‘NRG’ draws on elements of Dubstep, Grime & Rap to create a genre-bending hard-hitting and sometimes tongue-in-cheek smasher guaranteed to do damage in clubs, day parties & festivals. Whilst this is the first time 0079, Emz & Wish Master have appeared on a record together, they all bring strong individual credentials to the table.

0079 provides the rumbling production, coming hot off the heels of his recent Foto Sounds EP. Previously one half of experimental rap duo DEDW8, and a founder member of Bristol hip hop royalty Split Prophets, 0079 has, in his various guises, previously released on the likes of Deep Medi, and produced for legendary Buffalo, NY rapper Conway The Machine.

Emz, who sets the track off effortlessly, has been making waves with his multifaceted approach to electronic music. An MC equally comfortable recording on the full spectrum of Dubstep, Grime, Garage, and Jungle/D&B, Emz has released with producers as varied as Watch The Ride, Drone, Commodo, EVA808, Sam Binga, Low End Activist, Sir Hiss, Gemi, and OH91. This has earned him regular national radio play, a coveted spot on the FIFA23 soundtrack, and club & festival bookings across the country.

Wish Master is better known as one of the Bristol rap scene’s current leading lights, but makes the switch back to the 140 flows of his youth look easy, closing the track with a braggadocios verse full of quotables. He’s been flying the flag for Bristol in New York this year, most recently on the esteemed On The Radar freestyle platform, as well as maintaining a daunting release schedule for both himself and his Official Recordings imprint.

Coming 12 years into the label’s run, this one harks all the way back to the early sound of Durkle Disco – MC focused music with a strong Dubstep influence. The release comes backed with high energy visuals, featuring additional artwork by rising star Holly Mingo.
