If you’ve ever checked out the Durkle radio show, then you’ll know we’re big fans of Amapiano, the South African sound currently taking over worldwide dancefloors, and its gradual cross-pollination with more traditionally UK club sounds. So we’re excited to be welcoming CURTISSS (formerly known as Distro, and one half of the Free Movement duo) to the label for his first full solo Durkle release, hot on the heels of his flip of Free Movement’s ‘Over The Wall’ this summer.

On the smooth & sometimes sensual title track ‘All For You’ he links up with long-time Durkle family member NGAIO – the Bristolian polymath (singer, DJ, promoter, and activist are just some of the many strings to her bow) who should need no introduction to followers of the label. A hugely versatile vocalist, NGAIO flexes her full vocal range on this, effortlessly switching through gears and mixing some huskier tones with impactful high notes.

Whilst drawing strong influences from, and paying respect to, the Amapiano formula, CURTISSS also doesn’t shy away from his UK Funky/Bass background (having notched releases under his previous alias on esteemed labels such as RKS, 877 & Punks Music) – especially on the hard hitting ‘Ancestors’. Both tracks here come in at a slightly higher BPM than typical South African production – fusing some of the best of what the 2 scenes have to offer sonically. All 3 tracks on this EP have been tried and tested all summer – getting a resounding seal of approval from festival and club crowds, as well as radio listeners.
