The third instalment of Durkle Disco’s ‘Definitions’ series finally lands, packing a bumper collection of remixes and unreleased versions of some of the Bristol label’s most beloved tracks.

Originally conceived to mark Durkle’s tenth anniversary in January 2021 (blame Covid), ‘Definitions Volume 3’ intends to be more than just a hastily collated compilation of tracks - and label founder Koast has gone deep curating a broad selection of the full range of bass-driven sounds that have shaped the imprint’s now-eleven years in the game

Amapiano, 2 Step, UK Funky, Garage, Grime, Dubstep as well as some vaguely uncategorisable mutant bassweight madness run through the thirteen tracks here, with the likes of Blackdown, Jook, East Man, Dutchie, $H The Producer, Dusty Ohms, Nothingnice & Hayz and KRSLD all stepping up on remix duties (plus Unkey and Lucent updating their own tracks).

As always with a Durkle project, the MCs and vocalists are very much front and centre: ‘Definitions Volume 3’ features scintillating contributions from names as varied as Riko Dan, Logan, Emz, Buggsy, Slowie, NGAIO, Dread MC, K9, Illaman, XL Mad, Griz-O, Jay0117 and even the return of the label’s inaugural act, Central Spillz.

A decade is a long time in electronic music (and eleven years even longer), but this forward thinking third edition of the Definitions series shows that Durkle Disco’s sights are still set firmly on the future.
